Jim Nolan

Director/Solicitor

Jim has over 50 years experience in the industry and in this time he has trained a number of Scotland’s leading Solicitors. He decided early on in his career to specialise in debt recovery and litigation with a view to being an industry leader. His vision was to offer clients an alternative approach to litigation by creating a fully computerised debt recovery practice. The firm's bespoke computer system was designed and implemented in 1985 and it was the only computer system to fully incorporate both the rules of the Scottish Courts and debt recovery strategies.

This system continues to allow the firm to deal with high volume debt recovery which is both cost effective and efficient to this day. Jim was also a highly respected part time Sheriff for a number of years covering courts all over Scotland.

Over the years Jim has continued to be integral to the firm and his expertise and in-depth knowledge of the industry guides the firm to this day.

 

Simon Nolan

Director/Solicitor

Having worked in the debt recovery industry for a number of years Simon joined the firm full time as a Solicitor in 2000. Simon has been instrumental in several cases which have shaped the current interpretation of Scottish Court Rules. His expertise in this area is widely recognised and respected in the industry. Simon has specialised in civil litigation and recovery services which has assisted many clients in ensuring compliance with their relevant regulatory bodies’ standards. As a result of his high profile in the industry Simon is regularly asked to provide talks at the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow at their CPD events. Alongside his Law Degree he has a Computer Science Degree which has proved to be invaluable to the firm. His IT knowledge has been indispensable in assisting many clients in the translation of litigation data into formats appropriate to their own recovery litigation suites, collections forecasting, cost forecasting and making their processes more efficient and compliant.

Simon’s experience in the industry is very much sought after and he regularly provides various industry training sessions to clients and their staff. His wealth of knowledge in both the Law and IT areas continue to keep Nolans at the forefront of the industry.

Alison Trussler

Alison joined the firm of Nolans in 1997 having previously worked at another large Glasgow firm. She has over 35 years experience in the industry.

She has a wide knowledge of all aspects of the debt recovery industry and this experience helps to guide clients with the recovery of their debts.

Alison is the first point of contact for many of our clients assisting them with their queries and providing debt recovery solutions. She is involved in the various aspects of administrative matters within the firm and the training of staff.

She also assists in the running of industry training sessions both in-house and at clients’ premises.
